Thornden Hall Arts Centre provides support for the Performing Arts Departments in Thornden School, and plays host to local and community groups, amateur or professional companies, providing a year-round entertainment programme.
In 2003 Thornden Hall opened its doors for the first time. A multi purpose venue with high quality acoustics for music performances, a stage large enough to accommodate a full orchestra, and an audience capacity of 386 people: a truly versatile facility that can be readily adapted for music, dance, drama, conferences, presentations or cinema. In addition, there are specialist music, drama and dance studios, as well as a foyer and licensed bar.
A complete refurbishment in 2021 upgraded the infrastructure enhancing the enjoyment for our audience and hirers.
Whether participating or watching a performance, Thornden Hall is a beacon for the arts in Chandler's Ford. The Hall is proud to be the home to numerous prestigious groups including the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, Thornden Community Choir, Thornden Community Wind Band and Stagecoach Performing Arts to name but a few. Thornden Hall is also acclaimed for screening the best in event cinema and live-by-satellite screenings, while also continuing to grow on the live touring circuit, with acts including Brian Conley, Jennie Eclair, John Culshaw, Paul Zerdin, The Zombies and The Spitfire Sisters all having performed on our stage.
